“For me, studying abroad feels like a dream. Each day I’m abroad I wake up and venture out to enjoy unfathomable experiences, doing things I’d never imagined I’d be doing. Each night I lie down to sleep expecting that I’ll open my eyes the next morning and I’ll wake in my bed back in America. The dream doesn’t end though, even after you return home. You continue to ride the wave of adrenaline, happiness, love, and everything else you’ve felt each time you recall your time abroad and put yourself back in that place. You’ll feel the impact that you’ve left on the people and the communities as you keep in contact with your newfound family. You’ll feel it each time you remember…and you’ll never forget. For those that have the means to travel independently, you could vacation a million times in a million places and it will NEVER equate to the experiences you’d get from a single study abroad program. For those who are not fortunate enough to experience independent travel, studying abroad will truly gift you that invaluable privilege. That alone is enough for me to recommend studying abroad to other students, but there is truly nothing I can say to describe how powerful it is.”
