Join Associate Professor Lorenzo Garcia-Amaya (LSA), Patrick Morgan (GET), and Janelle Pangilinan (GET) for this workshop to learn more about designing a faculty-led program abroad in a way to mitigate risks before they occur. This workshop will utilize scenario based tabletop discussion to highlight important aspects of the Guidance for Developing an Instructor-led Study Abroad Program resource.
Topics may include considering safety and learning outcomes when designing the program, pivoting when something unexpected occurs, debriefing throughout the trip to maintain well-being and group dynamics, understanding partner capabilities, and planning for medical emergencies.
