There are several known and perceived barriers to study abroad, especially for students with disabilities. This presentation will focus on first understanding the framework of “students with disabilities” and then move on to exploring the questions of what should education abroad offices take into account when creating programs that would accommodate these needs, how should education abroad advisors approach advising students with needing accommodations abroad, and what is the current process for securing accommodations.
