Annual Borka Tomljenović Lecture. Migration and Narration

November 4, 2024

Aleksandar Hemon will discuss issues of migration, narration, displacement, multilinguality, macaronic language, epic form, music, collaborative creativity, and the end of empires. He will also read excerpts from his critically-acclaimed novel “The World and All That It Holds” (2023), a sweeping story that spans decades — 1914-1949 (and 2001) —and continents, from Sarajevo to Shanghai (plus Jerusalem). The reading will be followed by a Q&A led by CREES Director Elizabeth King.
