This is one of the many views on the way to Mama Rachel Abessolo’s pineapple plantation in the village of Oyem. The pondering stances of my fellow students reflect the many thoughts and questions I had throughout our journeys. I always wondered if the Gabonese are able to enjoy the forest the way we Americans can when we don’t directly depend on it for survival.
