“We were taking a morning stroll along the water in old Cochin. These are traditional Chinese fishing nets. This was somewhat comical because most of the time the nets only brought trash with a fish or two every once and a while.”
Newhouse was one of 20 graduate students in the Global Impact internship program in the summer of 2013. The program is sponsored by the William Davidson Institute, a non-profit research and educational institute at the University of Michigan.
