The picture was taken by Matt Gaidica, PhD Candidate in Neuroscience Graduate Program (Michigan Medicine) when he was in Annapurna base camp in Nepal studying brain at high altitudes.
He described this photo as “Her face, all the faces, vibrantly aged. It is the sun. Or labor. The mountains. So far from those hollowing things. Broken in. Unbroken.”
