A CORD worker, dressed in purple, sits down with a village microfinance group to make sure it is on track. Through these groups, women can access necessary credit to support their families and start businesses. A majority of the communication is done in the local dialect, Pahadi, to allow the women to take maximum ownership in running the group. They also learn how to balance their books and keep careful track of the group finances.
