Good afternoon International Education colleagues,
In partnership with Sarah Elgin of U-M Recreation Sports, the Global Engagement Team is pleased to announce free CPR/AED/First Aid training for eligible faculty, staff, and students. Eligibility for this particular training includes faculty, staff, and students who lead groups of students abroad on UMRT or conduct work in a remote field site abroad (definition is on our Remote Field Site Abroad: Safety Considerations page).
Feel free to share this with colleagues or students who meet the criteria.

The CPR course is a blended learning format consisting of one 2-hour online training and one in-person training session at the Intramural Sports Building. You will need to complete the online session prior to the in-person session. We will send detailed instructions to those who complete the registration form. There will be two in-person sessions offered (you only need to register for one):
Thursday, March 21st, 8 – 10 am
Wednesday, May 8th, 3 – 5 pm
Please note: Registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis with a limit of 18 per session, so complete this course registration form as soon as possible.
Course Information
The Adult First Aid/CPR/AED course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies to help adult victims (about 12 years and older). Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for Adult First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years.
Upcoming WFA Training
We will also be offering a free two day Wilderness First Aid workshop (WFA) that takes place on April 5th and 6th. The RSVP will come out in a few days. The CPR/AED/First Aid is a prerequisite for attending the WFA workshop.
For questions about the training, please let me or Sarah know. Take care and we hope to see you at the training,
